• Notes

  Umphery was an electrician and always had a better than average job. He was able to send his two sons to Texas A&M. He was an employee of Houston Light and Power and was up on a utility pole when he got shocked and fell about 30 feet. He landed on a barbed-wire fence and his leg was shattered. He was taken to the hospital and was recovering from the electric shock when the doctor wanted to operate on his leg. The anesthesia killed him.
