  • Notes 
    • Adrian served in the Civil War, enlisting first on July 10, 1863 in Captain Kilpatrick's 1st New Jersey Cavalry. Then he was commissioned as a second lieutenant in Company C, 2nd New Jersey Cavalry. He was taken prisoner on May 18, 1864 and imprisoned at Andersonville, Macon, Savannah, Georgia; Columbia, Hilton Head, and Charleston, South Carolina, but managed to escape in December 1864 on the Knoxville and Chattanooga Railroad. He rejoined his outfit and was mustered out on Nov. 1, 1865. After the war, he read law under Colonel Daniel R. Boice and was admitted to the bar in November 1876 and as a counseler in June 1882. He lived in Cranbury Township., Middlesex county, New Jersey in 1880 and 1900. He practiced law in Cranbury, New Jersey. (Used name Appleget).
