  Nancy graduated with honors from Mary Institute in St. Louis in 1939. She was an attractive blonde with blue eyes and her favorite sports were tennis and swimming. She made her debut in 1940 at the St. Louis Veiled Prophet Ball. Nancy participated in a variety of charitable volunteer activities through the Junior League, and was a nurse's aide during World War II. After her marriage, the couple moved to Los Angeles in 1953 where they lived in Pacific Palisades, Brentwood, and Santa Monica over the years. She continued her volunteer activities including working with Meals-on-Wheels and St. John's Hospital in Santa Monica. Nancy enjoyed traveling and was a member of The Beach Club in Santa Monica where she enjoyed her many friendships and playing paddle tennis.
