Notes - I (Bob Coomber, son) remember him as working for John Bahler Hardware store on West Avenue in Fairport. He , along with a couple of others, provided plumbing, heating and electrical service to customers. This was a far back as I can remember which would be during the mid 1940's. John Bahler died around 1949 and then my father went into his own plumbing business. R. A. Coomber and Sons, along with my brothers Jesse and Ronnie. He did not stay in business too many years and before 1951 he was working for Bausch & Lomb in Rochester. I think he was tending the boilers or something like that. He later went to work for H. P. Neun Box Factory on Main St. in Fairport doing the same type of work. I recall visiting him in the boiler room of that factory.
He lived on East Avenue in Fairport after he was married and sometime moved to 9 DeLand Park A when he lived until about 1953 when he bought a mobile home and moved to Wayneport Trailer Park, Wayneport Rd, Macedon, NY where he lived until his death.
His marriage notice in Erieville paper says he was a graduate of Mechanics Institutes in Rocheter and was at that time (1924) engaged in the mercantile business in Fairport
