"Platt (6) Skidmore [son of Peter (5)], born about 1780, lived at Commack and Huntington, L. I. He married and had three sons and one daughter as follows:
1. William B. Skidmore [son of Platt], who took the first steamship to China and was with the 'Pacific Mail Steamship Company.' He married and had the following children:
(1) William B. Skidmore, of Brooklyn, N.Y.
(2) Joseph Skidmore, lawyer in Brooklyn, N.Y.
(3) Josephine Skidmore.
2. Platt Skidmore [son of Platt], who was lost at sea.
3. Brewster Skidmore [son of Platt], who was born May, 1813, married Abigail Skidmore. They resided at Huntington, L. I. Their two sons are:
(1) Woodhull Skidmore [son of Brewster and Abigail Skidmore], who was
born December 12, 1834. He married first Martha E. Williams, second
S. Louise Hard. He resides at Patchogue, N. Y.
(2) Charles B. Skidmore [son of Brewster and Abigail Skidmore] was born
March 16, 1845. Married and resides at Hempstead, L. I. No children.
4. Almira Skidmore [daughter of Platt], who married Henry Ketcham.
