  • Notes
    • Timothy learned the blacksmith trade. He with his happy wife lived on for years until the breaking out of the rebellion found them with a family of eight small children. With his noble spirit for his country he enlisted in the seventy-ninth Regiment O. V. I. under General Sherman for about two and one-half years after which he was honorably discharged. Early in life he became a member of the Free Will Baptist church but since 1887 was connected with the Methodist Episcopal church. The influence of his earnest Christian life has been of untold benefit to all his loved ones and all who knew will always remember him for his goodness and kindness which was a result of having lived close to his Savior. The sufferings of the latter months of his life were borne with great fortitude.
