  Bud was raised in Switzerland County, residing there all his life. He graduated from Patriot High School in 1956 and attended the Florence Church of Christ. He retired in 1989 from Frito-Lay in Louisville where he was a route salesman for 17 years. He was a former employee of Pepsi-Cola in Lawrenceburg. He was a U.S. Army veteran, rising to the rank of SP4, and was honorably discharged on November 30th, 1964.
