Notes - Truman was the first graduate of the Auburn High School to be killed in France. He entered the University of Washington, but left it at the close of his sophomore year. As a member of the National Guard, he was called to the Mexican border in 1916. Returning from there, he went to Camp Lewis, where he received his commission. He went overseas with the 363rd Infantry of the 91st Division.
