  • Notes
    • Arthur moved to Griggsville in 1953 where he was employed by Trio Manufacturing Company, later known as Nature House, until his retirement in 2002. He was a Boy Scout and earned his Eagle Scout badge at the age of 14, one of the youngest to become an Eagle Scout in Fort Collins at that time. During WWII he served the war effort as a tool and die maker at Douglas Aircraft in California and received several design patents for his work. He was an active member of the Griggsville Lions Club which installed street signs in the town in the 1950's and served on the local and regional library boards serving as vice president of the Great River Library System from 1977-1979, and president from 1979-1980. He was also on the board of directors of the Skinner House in Griggsville, Il.. He was an active Rotarian for more than 30 years and was named a Paul Harris Fellow by the Pittsfield Rotary Club in 1988. Art loved to read, do "brainteaser puzzles," and was well known for his dry wit and funny sayings!
