    • Curt moved to Crosby with his parents and graduated from Crosby-Ironton High School and junior college. He entered the U.S. Army and served in the Korean Conflict. Following honorable discharge, he graduated from the University of Minnesota.

Curt taught agriculture and served as FFA advisor in Alden, Lyle, and Howard Lake, where he also ran a dairy farm, then moved to Fergus Falls, where he taught until his retirement in 1985. He was honored as one of Minnesota's top ten teachers and recognized by the Future Farmers of America for his years of consecutive attendance at the organization's national convention in Kansas City.

Curt and Lois made their retirement home in Sylvan Township. Curt was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church and former member of the Elks, the Lions Club, the American Legion, and the Sylvan Township Board, which honored him with the Above and Beyond Award. He enjoyed music and played the organ. He loved his dogs Bonnie Jean and Mandy and was an avid gardener. For many years played Santa Claus in the communities where he lived. Curt collected Santas and brought joy and humor into the lives of many people.
