    • During the Civil War, Robert enlisted on October 19, 1861 as a private into Company B, 37th Indiana Infantry. He later served as Sergeant Major, 37th Indiana Infantry, also in Company G, 2nd U.S. Infantry and Company G, 13th U.S. Infantry. His widow, Keturah, filed for a pension from the state of Colorado October 5, 1890, application # 422,465, certificate # 350,080.
