• Notes

  Joseph graduated from Princeton in 1779 and took up the study of law. He was a member of the Bench and Bar of Monmouth county, and Clerk of the Court in 1798. In 1817 he founded the Monmouth County Bible Society. His house in Freehold was where the Pennsylvania Railroad station now stands.
