  • Notes 
    • In 1854, Darius came to Cedar Rapids with his parents and learned the printing trade. He was one of the proprietors of the Cedar Valley Times being associated with Ayers Brothers Later because of his health he sold out his interest to the Ayers Brothers and later with his brother John engaged in the job printing business under the firm name of Dawley Brothers. Following a fire in the Times office they sold their business to the Times. Darius worked at his trade at the Times and other places in Cedar Rapids. Some years ago he moved to Siloam Springs, Arkansas, and made his home there with his nephew John B Chamberlain They later moved to Pueblo and he remained there until his death.
