Notes - Family under construction.
Tennessee granted 50 acres of land in the 3rd district, 11th section, Overton county, to Samuel, 18 August 1816. This land originally had been surveyed and granted to William Mitchell, 31 July 1807. On 2 August 1822, Tennessee granted 30 acres of land, originally issued to Stephen Copeland. This land was along the Roaring River.
Samuel probably died before April of 1824 because at that time his son-in-law, Joshua Stapp, obtained property that adjoined the 30 acre tract of Samuel Stewart and it mentioned "where the Widow Stewart now lives."
