• Notes

  When twenty-seven years of age, Thomas left Ohio for Iowa, locating in Garnavillo Township, in Clayton county, where he resided until his death. In 1854 he settled upon a farm of 163 acres, which he had purchased of John King the previous year. It was situated on section 22, and contained many excellent improvements, becoming one of the finest farms in that section.
