    • Denny received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in secondary education from Purdue University.
      He served in the U.S. Navy in World War II, rising to Seaman First Class while serving on the USS Indianapolis. He received the World War II Victory Medal, American Area Campaign Medal and the Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal with three bronze stars.

      He was a secondary school teacher in Switzerland County for 38 years until he retired May 18, 1987.
      He was a master carpenter, and his work could be seen at the Ye Olde Carriage Shoppe in Vevay. He was a member of the Switzerland County Historical Society, Vevay American Legion Post 185, Indiana Retired Teachers Association, National Muzzle Loaders Rifles Association, Midwest Tool Collectors Association , the Cincinnati Carriage Club and Switzerland Baptist Church. He was a Kentucky Colonel.
