Notes - Benjamin enlisted in 1776 in Captain Brockway's company, Colonel Thompson's regiment. For his service during the Revolutionary War he received a pension in 1832.
Benjamin remained in Branford until 1776, moving for a short time to Stoney Creek. In 1781, he moved to Norfolk, followed by a move to Groton, Tompkins county, New York; then in 1820 to Southington, Ohio, where he died. In an obituary notice, the "New York Observer" wrote of him: "He was a true patriot. He warmly espoused the cause of the country. He possessed the spirit of '76 and cheerfully devoted his property and his personal efforts to obtain freedom and Independence. The good of the country he earnestly sought until his death."
