Notes - Rose was a woman of great firmness of character and untiring industry. She walked seven miles to meeting on Sunday, attended morning and afternoon services, dined and took tea with her sister and walked baok in the evening, the whole distance by unfrequented roads and forest. She often walked four miles for an evening call and walked back. She spun yarn for knitting and carried the knitting as she walked these distances. She said the work was good company on a dark night.
