  	Charles R. Street, Huntington Town Records, including Babylon, Long Island, N.Y.: 1653–1688, v. 1, p. 206 is included in a list of taxpayers at Huntington in 1673. A fn on that page states: "Robert Arthur was probably a son of John Arthur, os Salem, Mass., who married the daughter of John Gardiner. After the death of John Arthur, the widow lived at Nantucked, and is believed to have moved from there to Huntington, bringing her son Robert. The 'widow Arter' is often mentioned in the records of the first settlement. Robert married a daughter of Thomas Scudder.—C. R. S." DISCUSSION: This tax list was alleged to be made in 1673 but the name Rob Arter is there, not the "widow Arthur." If the tax list date is correct, this calls into question the birth date for Robert Arthur and the speculations in the footnote. With ample discrepancies to resolve, this page is under construction while a search is conducted for documented records for the Arthur family.
