• Notes

  Charles graduated from Princeton in 1936. He then went to Virginia Law School where he earned an LLB degree in 1938. He was a member of the American Bar Association, and the bar associations of Ohio and Kentucky. He was assistant general counsel and later became corporate secretary of Brown and Williamson Tobacco Company. Then, after eleven years, he went into mortgage banking and was vice-president of Midwest Mortgage Company in Louisville, Kentucky.
